We bought a 240 last year in TX from MM and moved to Northern Virginia. We have a couple warranty works that we need to do but there is no MM nearby (closest in Baltimore). Do we need to transport the boat to Baltimore everytime we work on warranty issues? There is a SR dealer in Woodbridge but they only service SR boats they sell. What option do I have and how are other people doing it? Thanks in advance.

Your warranty issues are with Sea Ray, not MarineMax. Any dealer should fix the problems. I would complain to Sea Ray and I'd bet the other dealer will cooperate.

I would assume that if its a hull issue....any Sea Ray dealer should be required to perform a warranty repair. The same if its a engine /drive issue.....that any authorized Merc dealer would do the warranty repair.

I don't understand how a Sea Ray dealer can claim he will only work on S/R boats that HE sells..... wouldn't that be in conflict with his S/R franchise rules ???

Do you think that maybe if he took care of someone else's customer....that maybe that guy would be HIS next customer......

I don't get it.....

That what I thought too. I guess I'll need to give Sea Ray a call and see if they have a solution for me. I'd hate to transport the boat to Baltimore every time I need to work on any warranty issues.

Thanks for the advices.
