Dave, booth 959 right across from Mercury. I'll be there by 2.

Mark it was a pleasure meeting and speaking with you. I hope you enjoy your new boat and you should make you way up to the Hudson River some time and meet the crowd.

I went to the show today and was impressed with the large crowd, however the lines sucked.

Cruisers - Had a 38 and 48 at the show through Staten Island Yacht sales. The 38 looked ghetto in my opinion. The colors and layour were just not me or anyone I know. The 48 I never got on because a 30-45 minute wait was not worth it to see something out of my price range. Sales guys were either tired of dealing with people or just really didn't seam interested in selling boats.

Regal - They had some nice boats and were very accomidating. Their 42 was very nice and real well laid out.

Formula - They had a 37 and a 45. The 45 was a long wait that I would not wait for, and the 37 was a straight walk on. Formula rep was really nice and informative. He actually is an owner that helps them at the shows. The 37 was nice but nothing to get excited about.

SeaRay - The line to get in their area was a joke so why bother.

Grady & Boston Whaler - Great reprisentation if your looking for a fishing boat. Lots of nice boats and informative reps.

Overall a pretty good show with a lot of vendors. It was crowded but not unbearable. However the lines were terrible to board a boat. I also wanted to point out that people need to control their kids and respect the boats. I saw a bunch of kids walking on seats in their dirty sneakers as well as touching, grabbing and pushing everything they saw. The formula rep had to ask a kid to lay off the controls on the 370 at least 3 times while the mother just sat there and watched. Complete disrespect. I had my 3 kids with me and they treated every boat like our own.

The only real a-hole at the show was the turd selling workout machines that vibrated. My kids waited their turn on the mahcines to stand on the vibrating garbage platform and after 15 seconds he ushered in the next. He then made some gesture as if they were bothering him and shooed them away in front of me, which was followed by a few 4 letter descriptive comments I offered to him.

MJK

MJK not to mention when they are laying on the horns.

I don't know why those guys don"t disconnect them for the show.

I went on Friday to avoid the crowds and I guess it was a good plan because I had no waiting time to get on most boats the Formula 45 was about 5-10 minutes and the SeaRay 54 was about 5 minutes. I only looked at boats my size or larger so there really weren't a lot of boats to see. Of all the boats at the show the two I just mentioned were the only two I really liked as much or more then what I own. Since I bought my boat going to the shows has been a bit of a different experience now I leave the shows appreciating what I have even more. Seeing how much a new boat would cost to replace what I have makes me realize what a good deal I got.

Is it Spring yet. I'm starting to have withdrawal symptoms.

Dave,

I always felt the same way. When we were at the Miami show a few years ago, we got off the 42 Viking and my wife said the only difference to our boat was the corean counter tops.

I'm done now. One of my partners is manning the booth today. Heading to FL for the week. Ahhhhhhh.

I was at the boat show on the first Wednesday it opened, and it was dead empty. I guess in some regard I'm happy to hear it got somewhat more crowded. Is anyone going to do AC for the boat show there?

Also - I'm probably going to be in Miami during their in-water show (weekend of Feb 18th). Anyone been to either show or plan on going this year?

I used to go to the Miamia boat shows when we used to visit my in-laws, who were snowbirds, during my February break from teaching. It was always a fun day, looking at and climbing onto, the boats of all sizes and shapes. It's always been a huge show, split between two or three locals. We won't be going this year; my in-laws are no longer snowbirds and I no longer have a February break now that I teach at a community college rather than a middle school. Think spring. Enjoys the show. Hy

Planning to be there to wander around. We may have a few appointments for the yard business so I don't know what days yet.

I always liked this show.

Sounds good. I'm gonna hit the beach for a day and then look at some of the new boats. I've never been to the show there. I'll be sure to report back.
