i know theres a state law saying all persons who operate a boat with a motor must have passed a safety course... how strictly is this enforced? from what i've heard, the instructors don't even make a record of the fact that you've taken the course, other then the certificate... so whats the worst that can happen if a cop pulls you over without the certificate (and you lie and say you left it on land)? a warning? a fine? a confiscated boat?
