So I get my oil analysis back, everything looks good. They add the comment after explaining what the numbers mean, "nice engine". That made me feel good!

what else would they say about Cummins???

I just sent mine off to blackstone last week. $25 for analyst. $1.90 for usps shipping.

How long did it take?

I'd like to get mine done too so 2nd question for who you used.

any Cat dealer or truck shop will have the kits.

I use Blackstone as well and their turn around has always been good, especially once I switched over to email reports. They provide some dialog with regard to the engine's health as well.

I use Oil Analyzers.
They graph your results over time and give you specific examples of what could be wrong if your oil sample is abnormal.
My last 2 samples for my truck had high copper and lead. They said for my model truck, it looks like the oil cooler is
on it's way to failing.
On my dad's truck, the oil sample was indicative of a bad injector. They were correct. Problem was caught before there
was catastrophic failure. Saved a bundle.
Their samplers are sent postage paid from them and to you. No worry about paying shipping. It is $31/sample.
If there is something important, they will call and email you right away.
If there is nothing important in the sample analysis, then they only mail you the results.

I have been using Foley Caterpillar in Piscataway for my Volvo TAMD-74P's,ZF transmissions, and Kohler generator. Each analysis is $20.00 which includes cost of kit, analysis, mailing and report. They send me an electronic and paper copy. They also keep a running history for each engine, trans, and generator. I also use them for all my coolants.

I have been very happy with them. My last samples stated that my coolant was low in Nitrates and PH. They suggested an additive and resample. I would have never known this if samples were not taken. If continued over a prolonged period, this can introduce cavitation in the coolant which causes galvanic corrosion. This will slowly start to pit the internal metals and cylinder liners.
