Oil on carpet

I have an oil stain from engine work on my boat. The mechanic told me to get a little brake fluid spray to take it off??? Any suggestions...the carpet is still in good shape...just a couple of spots.

Try some brake clean,it has worked for me in the past. Test a small area first.

My Lab,when a puppy, chewed open a full qt of motor oil which she sniffed out from a slider cabinet. She had fun with it in the salon...you can guess the rest!

Get some "AFTA" Adhesive remover/cleaning solvent - homedepot has it, and some white towels

If the above doesn't work try using some 'original' GoJo hand cleaner on it. I use it to clean oil and grease out of my clothes when I have a spill. Use it liberally and scrub it good.
