OK, so what do I do now that she's in storage????

WARNING!!!!! First time boater, first time in storage, and she's outdoors not shrink wrapped!!!!

I feel that it's not healthy for the boat to just sit out there like that without any TLC. What am I supposed to do? I asked the storage dock to wash and wax the boat - I have a large bill to show for that - and I asked the tech who's working on the manifolds to take care of any lingering mechanicals. I was going to learn the Lowrance nav system, but without the boat all I can do is read the very thick uninspiring manual. So, what do I do in the meantime to make sure I'm in ship shape come end of April when she gets back in the salty H2O?
 
Well for starters, you might want to ask the Mechanic not to fix any lingering mechanicals without first giving you an estimate or that detailing bill might look like a bar tip in comparison.

If I understand correctly, your boat just went out side and you are in MD. You only have a few weeks to go before an early splash (Im in NJ and I go in 4-1), so I wouldnt worry about it not being covered. Put on your cockpit cover if you have one, if not put up your canvas.

Read that manual a couple of times. Your going to want to be mobile to learn the electronics...

The boat went in (or up) the weekend after thanksgiving and the mech and I have been talking - he's one of the best here and hasn't done anything without discussing with me. As for the detailing stuff, a different person did that and next time I'll DIY.

I'm really looking forward to the coming season, wow!!!
 
Join a local Power Squadron and take some coarses on boating. It will make you a better seaman, and you actually might learn something new, besides making new boating friends. Then come back on here and tell us all about it! :)

I took the PS course that was offered locally and have my certificate. The course is certainly worth every penny and time, and I advice others to consider taking some kind of boating course. I'm actually thinking of just joining the Salisbury group. Thanks for the advice.
