I went out with my friend on his 21' Grady w/ a 225 outboard on Saturday for some fishing.
Rather than go to his typical dead spots around Heckscher park I suggested we go check out the inlet.
It took a little bit to figure it out, but there are a couple small channels running North/south, probably only couple feet deep in between all the sandbars.
On the inside just East of the inlet is pretty deep water about 8-12ft, this is were we did our drifts for fluke, nothing but some shorties.
What I will mention is the water is crystal clear, you can see right down to the bottom even where is was like 10ft deep. I have never seen the bay side so clear. My friend just got back from Key West from a family vaca, he mentioned the water made him think he was still there!
There is something really magical going on out by this inlet, I would highly suggest anyone with a small outboard boat go check it out, its beautiful, also saw a couple small I/O's make it out there
