Omc 800 upper and lower unit oil substitute

I've got an OMC Stringer 800 and wonder what oil capacities and more importantly to me right now, what oil types I can use in the upper and lower units. I'm wondering if there is a substitute for the OMC brand stuff? I've read that the GL-5 85W 140 will work in both the upper and lower units, as well as the intermediate? THANKS!
