I was adjusting the shift linkage on my 1989 OMC Cobra, and I tested the ESA switch to see if the engine stumbled, but it did not. I changed the points less than a month ago, and only have a few hours on them. I cleaned them just to be sure that isn't the problem. They must be pretty healthy as the engine fires right up.
I haven't tested the switch yet, but assuming it checks out good, is there a way to test the ESA modual to see if it may be good or bad?
I have a service manual from OMC, but it dosen't say much about testing the ESA.
Thanks
Greg O.
