I have a crack in my lower unit because I didn't winterize properly. I thought I would take it off and get it repaired (welded) however, after removing the bolts I was only able to dop the lower unit approx 3/4" away from the upper unit. I then decided to use that JelWeld stuff instead but now I am unable to resecure the lower unit. What is in there that might be holding it up and what should I do? Do I need to remove the upper unit portion as well? Any insight into what to do would greatly be appreciated.
