I have an Onan MCCK 6.5kw gas generator circa 1988. I was going to tune it myself for the first time but ran into a little problem, that I need some help with.
The distributor on the unit is a metal canister that has a square top. The coil is bolted on the top onto two fixed screws that come up through the top of the distributor. I removed those screws and the coil came off, but I can't figure out how to take the top off.
The lip of the cover seems to go outside the unit, but there are no screws or latches. I tried to pull it off with a fair amount of force, but couldn't budge it. Is there some secret to taking it off, or is it just a matter of prying it?
Thanks!
