I've got a 1992Onan MAJB 3.0Kw that won't rev up to meet the demand when the AC kicks on. The gen starts up pretty normally. I've got good water flow, and the problem occurs when cold or warmed up. Oil level is also good.

The gen starts up and starts producing just over 120 volts. When the AirConditioner is turned on, the fan alone draws the voltage down to around 110 or 112. When the compressor tries to kick on, the voltage needle drops way down very quickly. The AC resets itself, and the fan starts to run again. The voltage once again sits at 110 or 112. When the AC is turned on with shore power, it kicks on with out issue. I have put an AMP meter on the AC system, and it is drawing the correct number of AMPs.

When I turn on the water heater and Microwave, the voltage drops down also. This was not always the case.

The brushes were replaced last year. I am suspecting the issue lies somewhere with the govoner or the carb. Carb has been rebuilt, but it was several years ago, or about 400+ hours ago.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
