"I heard an interesting quote yesterday, a friend of mine who was walking the halls of congress trying to get a commercial season. In one of his meetings he was told don't focus on the monkey; it's the organ grinder that's the problem. I took that to mean everything is coming from the top, so I will let you draw your own conclusions.
"Our lobby (ASA) told me yesterday that our grass roots operation is the key to saving our salmon season. Our lobby has turned their entire Washington DC operation on our problem. They have been doing everything possible.
"We have made a difference, but it has come down to us and our grass roots organization. I have asked a lot of you this past couple weeks, and I apologize for the obvious disruption in your personal lives.
"On behalf of ASA and your Political team I am force to go to the well on more time, and ask you this time hit the target list with everything we have left in the tank.
"YOU MUST RESPOND YOU MUST RESPOND, YOU MUST RESPOND.
"Let's put all our disagreements aside and post this message on every board you can think of. Go to your neighbors, friends etc. I can only put it this way, It's the fourth quarter with 2 seconds left we are on the goal line and I handed you the ball.
