I wanted to polish our little 176lb Bruce so I turned the boat around and dropped the anchor on the dock and...

So I turned the boat back stern in hoping nobody would notice, :)

Truth is the slab had been cracked for a while now but nobody thought it was going to collapse that quickly :)
 
If you could can the emotions that occur during that half-second of, "Aw, shizelsnitz!", you would be a zillionaire! :)

Since you have the opportunity, maybe it is time to polish the underside of the swim platform?

Um, from what height did you drop the anchor?

I hope your insurance company pays for it. Don't you hate it when you do something stupid.
 
And here you you where wondering why had the anchor in the water leaving the anchorage. I was trying to get the mud of so I thought, it turned out I picked up a rotted out metal bucket. I think we should stop using the anchors, it only gets them dirty and all scratched up, better to just bounce of other boats all day.
 
Just in case... I was obviously joking about the anchor :).
 
I know! when I hauled it up it looked like a bunch of clay stuck to it, so I lowered it to wash of as I was idling out of the anchorage but when I brought it up again nothing had changed. Thats when I noticed it was an old bucket, the things we find! why couldn't it be a rolex, right?
 
At least now the dock is easily accessible at any stage of the tide.

From the glimpse of boats on lifts, I expect that is in Miami not that Other Island off Cape Cod...
