Oops.

I'm guessing there is a captain on the unemployment line as well as a couple junior officers.
There is also an insurance company on the hook for some major damage$, both to the ship and the port.

Had a rudder suddenly go hard over a few days ago when shifted to electronic control. Don’t remember exactly what I said to urge everyone to be quiet while I got control of things, but some of them still seem offended. SOB went 40 degrees hard port at almost ten knots, INSIDE a port. Don’t need everyone shouting about it - believe you me, I f€£^%# noticed!!!!!

I would think a few harsh words are quite forgivable in that circumstance...

Sometimes the offending hardware auto-corrects LOL.

Having been on a few cruises now, and watched the docking, I am thinking that perhaps the throttle got stuck, or, they flat out blew it with the approach speed. IMHO they were coming in pretty "hot".
