Happy New Year all,

I am considering a move down Narragansett Bay from Warwick to save both gas & time as we spend most weekends away from the marina either in Newport/Jamestown or out of the bay entirely. Anyone have strong opinions as to East Passage Yachting Center? Reliable service and family friendly staff are key...I've 3 teen boys, a 36' Carver and live too far away to do all servicing myself. Do the tanks and container storage spoil the view? Any recommendations for marinas on the eastern side of the bay.

I feel your pain. About 5 yrs ago we moved from "Dickersons" (Apponoug)Marina to Westerly Marina mainly because of the excessive travel time up the bay. We head to Block or the Vineyard almost every weekend. The upper bay really gets snotty in the late afternoons as you turn west into the corner towards East Greenwich Bay

I bought my boat at the dock at New England Boat Works at East Passage Yachting Center and store it there for the winter ('06-'07). I was quite satisfied with their service and the yard in general. I moor in Stonington CT in the summer so had no need for dockage this past year. Actually I would have winter stored there again if it wasnt for the long drive and my work on the boat plans for this year. With respect to the view, it is quite limited due to the narrow entrance to the basin.

I've been a dockominium owner at EPYC for over 20 years. Untill 1999 I had a sail boat and lived on it most weekends. EPYC has a full service marina, pool, restaurant lounge, gas diesel, pumpout, laundry, showers and heads at both ends of the marina. Quick access to East Passage and a ride to Newport and Potter's Cove. I also have a 38' slip I'm renting from May 1st to Oct 31st. This summer I'm staying in East Greenwich which is closer to my house and work. If you're interested I have an ad on the Providence Craigslist website under boats entitled 38' slip for rent. $115/ft. It's cheaper than the marina's rate.
