"A crew from Hamble Lifeboat, an independent lifeboat station, was on scene within nine minutes and Solent Coastguard Helicopter was then scrambled to airlift the bleeding Mr Lovett, whose testicles were dangling five inches down his leg, to Southampton General Hospital."
No Lifeboatman's career is complete without a medevac for a beanbag injury.
(Early 2000's or so, cleat pulled loose on a boat being side towed, double braid nylon line snapped back and the cleat hit a guy right in the marble sack. Shouldn't have been standing in way of the line, but still really felt bad for the guy - especially when we got to the dock, and out of the ambulance came two young knockouts. Don't remember if they were blondes or brunettes - so let's go with a brunette and a redhead. Poor guy just looked utterly defeated at that point, even despite all the great (terrible and probably felonious) advice we gave him on getting over the embarrassment by trying to capitalize on the situation.)
