OK Here is something I forgot to tell everyone about the boat.
PLEASE READ YOU WILL GET A KICK OUT OF THIS. I also posted this on the Carver forum.
The boat was originally located in Michigan then the owner took her to Florida. While there he had the Radar Arch modified for trucking. His intension was to transport it to an from Florida. However after seeing the price it was not economical. So so purchased another boat for Michigan.
The boat was built in 2001 but commissioned on 11/18/03. The original owner was looking for a Sedan Bridge. He and his wife loved the boat. The only reason they traded her in was due to lobster and crab pots in Florida. He was looking to have a better vantage point at the helm. We found out this information later. After you read below it makes sense.
So now for the WEIRDEST part of this story. We arrived at the Albany Yacht Club on Saturday for my Birthday. Checked in, had a drink and was talking to the Dock Master. She said she received a call from Francy Free. (the name of the boat). She said, yes we have your reservation. The owner said, we didn’t make reservations, she said we know the other person in your party (Me, Starry Night did); the owner said we do not know any Starry Night. So basically the Dock Master said ok we will se you when you get here. Now, the dock master tells me that Francy Free is on their way in. I said, no that is not possible I just talk to Ron, the Captain and he is stuck at Lock 8 and will not make it till Sunday. So now we are scratching our heads and the day move on. I went to the registry office to sign in and I see Francy Free signed in. So I am now looking for the boat around the dock. I do not see it, so I ask the Dock Master, she said right over there. I said wow there are two Francy Frees. What are the chances of that? So I walk down to the boat, which is a 56 Sea Ray Sedan Bridge, and look for the owner. I finally see a woman walking down the dock. I ask her, did you own a 2001 Trojan 440 Express. Well, she said yes… why do you ask… and how did you know… so I tell her I just bought your boat… Her name is Francy. She said no way.. I said yes… and it will be here tomorrow. So the short of the story is they were heading to Florida from Michigan with their new boat but had an engine problem, so they stopped at Albany Yacht Club.. So what are the chances of this happening… 1,000,000 to 1. So we started talking and Dave the original owner of the Trojan told me all about the boat.. So now I am the second owner of the Trojan..
