Some of you may recall I had some electrolysis problems on my Volvo SX outdrive last year. I don't know if it was a problem with my boat or the two metal boats i was between. I do know the sacrificial anodes were the wrong material for my type of water. My mechanic is going to help me check for stray voltage when we splash in a few weeks. In the meantime, I need to fix the pits that are on the drive. I was thinking of wire brushing the areas, putting a layer bondo like filling on them and sanding the filler to match the surface of the drive. Then paint the whole lower unit with zinc chromate, followed by an acrylic paint then anti-fouling paint.
Am I on the right track?
