Does anyone know if there are any specific restrictions to anchoring overnight in the bay. Seems most all the transient slips are taken for the Cherry festival and we would like to spend a day or two in town.

Also a great way to watch the airshow.

Thanks

Todd,

When are you cruising north? We are going with another boat from Ludington on the 5th. We do have reservations at Clinch Marina for the 5th and 6th. You may try to contact the harbor master directly (if you haven't done that) to see if you could possibly be accomodated in some way. I'm not sure about the anchorage opportunities. I believe the area around Marion Island and Bowers Harbor is commonly used for that purpose. I think you can anchor anywhere other than a navigatable waterway so long as an anchor light is displayed.

Thanks Jim, I was going to start calling the harbor masters up that way. We are going to be in Charlevoix the 2nd and 3rd and then head down for the 4th. Coming up from Grand Haven and going to hit Fox Island and Manitou then over. A few of the marinas around there just cant handle our size. I figured with the lights on somewhere off the beach should be good overnight if need be.
