I was driving to work today and notice a few boats in a yard on the side of the road and happen to spot "Party of Five" Looks great looks like you spent some time cleaning her up and the name looks good too, I will see you at the dock soon.

I assume 9W. If so that was it. It's ready to go as of today. The plan is to splash in Newburgh tomorrow around 1PM and head down to the dock. I can't take credit for the cleanliness, the guy that runs the yard ended up making me a deal I couldn't refuse to wash and wax it, and I haven't had the time. I finished painting the bottom earlier this week and put everything else back together. I have a few items on my punch list left, but I want to just get in at this point.

I went to SPBM this morning to figure out the slip situation. It was a nightmare, they didn't know who was where. The computer, the board and the slips didn't line up for anyone. I supposably am going to move down toward you to number 53 (written with marker on the finger). Long story but Stuart is trying to get it all under control.

I'm hoping to see you guys tomorrow.

MJK

Good luck tomrrow. I'm glad you at least have a slip on the dock. Hopefully they will straighten it out.

See you tomorrow.

Referring to Stuart and getting something "worked out" is an oxymoron. And yes, part of that word can be interpreted as you wish.

I don't think he is Oxy at all. The problem is the don't have any systems in place for for managing the place they make it up as they go along. But they are trying, the few people that know how to run the place and what ever systems they had in place no longer work there. I do believe things may get a little worse before it gets better but I would like to believe things will get better. In the mean time I very happy in my slip and I don't need much else to keep me happy.

I'm happy that the boaters who patronize SPBM are content with their accomodations, and that is all that really maters.

With that being said, I'm amazed that any of us would settle for the service that we openly admit they provided. I don't care if we're speaking of marina's, dining establishments or home trash services.

I'd love to understand what SPBM offers when even it's clients state:
1. That there is a water issue that limits when you may come or go.
2. They don't have a system and "make it up as they go".
3. The people who knew what they were doing no longer work there
4. Things will get worse before they get better.

What is it that they are offering, that would offset all of these negatives?

With such a short boating season, why would you risk your enjoyment on these conditions?

Again, I don't pay your bills, so your opinion of the marina is the only one that counts, just curious as to what it is that I'm missing.

Why would'nt you all get togeather as a group and demand that the management get thier act togeather?

Pete, your questions are very valid and help explain why we and many others have left that marina. IMO the only thing the marina really has going for it is the fantastic group of friends we were forced to leave behind. Luckily we are close by and will still spend a lot of time with them while meeting new friends at a marina that is run by a top notch group of people that are hell bent on making the customer as happy as possible.

I sounds worse then it is. No place is perfect I'm very happy where I am and have no plans of leaving anytime soon. I understand if others aren't as content as I am but I can't see moving when I love my slip the view is amazing and friends are great. Although I agree the guys next door are great there is no more water there the only option for me would be Haverstraw and then I lose the view parking is a far walk metal docks are not my favorite and the price is much more. So why would I leave? Like I said it sounds worse then it is Jr is trying hard to improve things and has been very responsive to any requests. So the way I see it is, if some leave others will come it's just the way it is. As long as everyone is happy at the end of the day that's all the matters.
