Ken,

Do you have a way of finding out if the oval port lights in a 3807/3867 are Taylormade? I can't find any stamp or logo on them but we're looking for replacement screens. I'd rather buy them than make them. Also, any past experience getting at the two midship cleat nuts on a 3807 for tightening?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Don

If memory serves me, Don. The portlights in those were made by Bomar. I can check when I get back to work on the 5th, but I'm pretty sure they are Bomar as I was surprised they went with those instead of the Gray Enterprises they used prior.

As far as tightening the cleats...we've (I've) never had to, but it seems as though you'll have to pull some liner down to get to the nuts...in that era...they (usually) had a panel that came down to access...sometimes a large panel, but a panel nonetheless.

That doesn't appear to be them Bruce...it's an aluminum extrusion frame instead of SS

Thanks for the help! I'm surprised they went with Bomar for the port lights, I was there in the late 80's early 90's but that model was designed before I got there, though I was involved in the change to the oval ports on the 390/430 model years. Taking a look at what would have to come apart, it seems as though the dinette valance and overhead panel along with everything else attached to it would need to come down, then the same in the galley. The stbd side I'd have to cut a hole in the outboard partition behind the couch to get at that one. The electrical panel removal to get at the port aft cleat is the easiest one. I took the two screens on the home and if worst case I can fabricate some new ones but buying would save some time.

Thanks again for the help! Let me know what you find out.
