I have a major problem. My PAR model 37010 on 87 CC Cat 381 will bring in water but will no discharge the matter to the holding tank. Currently the bowl is full, I need help. Bill

It sounds like your discharge scavenger pump is not working. Does it make noise as in have power when you try and flush? If it has power and you hear it running perhaps it needs a new impeller? You can pump the bowl out using a hand operated portable bilge pump they sell them at West Marine. I have used it and bucket when I used to have problems with my old VacuFlush system.
I haven't had to use it since I installed a Raritan Marine Elegance 4 seasons ago.

Possibly the discharge impeller (metal) and chopper plate came loose - they are held on to the end of the shaft by a nut. More likely, a wad of paper is clogging the discharge line as it is only 1". Try a plunger after you remove some of the waste water. The suction action will bring the blockage back into the bowl.

Thanks for the info. Boat has two. The one now not working did work for water. The other needed a snake to clear the line. The none flushing one will bring in water but it will not even drain when left sitting. I cleared the mess with my trusty bilge wet/dry next step will be the snake, but give I am currently trying to get through the Trent-Severn Canal system work time is limited. Bill

Bill:

I am not keen on a metal snake as I have found that each time mine would not flush the problem was at the discharge port on the pump and not in the hose. If you can access a blow-up of the pump there are two "impellers" on the shaft separated by a backing plate. The rear impeller pumps water in, the front impeller, which is metal if I recall, macerates the waste and by centrifugal force, sends it out the discharge port. Between the discharge port and the pump there should be a "duck bill" which is intended to prevent the waste from flowing back into the bowl. Any excess paper wad will lodge at that point blocking discharge but because the pump is working the intake impeller still turns bring water into the bowl. Based on unpleasant experiences, I keep a small plunger on board.
