The annual boat parade is set for November 22nd. If any boaters are interested in joining the parade please let me know. It is always a great sight to see and participate in. It is being run by the "patchogue riverfront committee", not the chamber of commerce.WALK radio will be on hand has will possibly national tv coverage. You can call Mike at 631-804-0595 or e-mail rb2@gr5tbparker942rb2@gr5taol.com or on this site. THANKS

Just an FYI.
The Patchogue Chamber of Commerce is no longer running the event. No reason was given but with all the coverage last year of the name change they were most likely caught between a rock and a hard place. (Keep the name and have complaints, change it and have complaints)
The Patchogue Riverfront Committee has taken over and they did so only after the Chamber decide not to run it.
As a member of the Patchogue Riverfront Committee we had a meeting last Friday and decided to support the event. The name will be The Christmas Holiday Boat Parade. Please do not take the return of the name Christmas to the event as a way of saying “hey those who want the name Christmas have won and the others lost”, that is not the case. We felt with Santa and the general Christmas atmosphere surrounding the event the name Christmas should be used.
That being said we support and hope to have join the event those of us who do not celebrate Christmas but their own holiday and decorating their boats to support that believe. This event should, as it has in the past support all members of the community and we honestly hope this will show those in and outside of the community the community supports and encourages the things that make us different. We also reach out to those in the community that celebrate a different believe during this time of year to join the parade and decorate boats showing that believe. Do not allow this event to separate us but bring us closer together. Join the parade and make it as big as or even bigger than before. Rest assured we will be watched to see how the public reacts, and we truly want a positive picture of our community and the event to shine through. WE WILL BE LOOKED AT!!!!!
WE NEED BOATS AND THE PUBLIC TO TAKE PART…..SUPPORT THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY BOAT PARADE

Thanks for the update Jerry. Looking forward to returning to THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY BOAT PARADE

For those who do not know me, I am Bruce from Surfside3 and i have participated in this parade many times and was a huge supporter of keeping "Christmas" in the name of the parade. My family and friends are all excited about being in the parade again, and God willing and health keeps improving we will be there.I was not around for last years but have heard the stories, we the committee will not allow negativity to interfere with this event. WALK radio is on board for the event. We have a better way to make judging easier for all of us. The village has approved the name being "Christmas Holiday Boat Parade", and the theme is "A CHILDS CHRISTMAS". For those of you who can enter your boat. i look forward to meeting you all. If you can't enter your boat, come on down and watch it. All the restaurants have things going on or go to the Davis Park ferry terminal for viewing. The grucci family is working on getting a fireworks display in the bay and illuminations on the river.

Bruce........you are the man.....GOOD to hear from you !!!!........how are you feelin ?

Bruce,

It is great hearing from you, we hope that you are getting stronger each day and that you will be returning to SS3 soon.

I just got off the phone with Mike and am going to put my boat in the parade. Seems like a good time since the LIYC has fallen apart in the boat decorating event, I will still be able to use the stuff I bought. Hope to see some of you there.

lol...ya think pal...billy we got your entrance fee and stuff...thanks......don congrats on the new boat coming in

We had a beautiful ride from Babylon to Patchogue. West Bank marina is very nice with a Tiki theme, bet it would be great in the summer. Mike told me he has bands here all summer with a 30 and older crowd. We put up some of our decorations and are looking forward to tomorrow's boat parade. Time for a couple or many VO's.

WHAT A BLAST!

We had a great time. There were thousands of people there. Every where I looked people were having a great time. The weather was great. All the boats were decorated and looked beautiful. The scene out in Patchogue Bay, of all the boats lit up and floating around was really something to see. Congrats to Bruce for the best decorated boat or something like that. His theme of angels and a halo over everybody was over the top. We had a great time and we will be back next year. Thanks to the river committee for running a difficult event without a hitch.
