Hi all,

Just closed on an 06 340 dancer holdover with twin horizons, (370hp) just wondered if anyone can offer some insight on performance figures...

also any other tips/tricks/hidden storage areas, observations, etc...would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Lou,
Great boat... easily cruise at 30 mph... burning around 36 gph...

Hidden storage area stb side in the mid cabin...there storage behind the fixed part of the seating area. the back ofthe seat folds down... huge area...

Enjoy the boat

Rob

Thanks Rob,

The 300 just got way too small w/2kids and three dogs (dogs stay in cockpit...we also have a bubble back canvas coming for it...

Lou,
Hate to tell yea ur next boats going to be a 44 dancer... lol

FYI... I had 26, 30, 34 ,44... So get ready....

Rob

No kidding!

we had a 3700 maxum last season, then our plans changed, then changed again, due to our 17 year old, and now we're back up at the lake (about 145 miles) i rent an office up there now, so we made a MAJOR mistake by down sizing... this will be out 3rd boat in 8 months...is that sick or what?

We're documenting her as "Tenative" since it is our 10th boat (not including three dinghys) since we got married...oh, that was only 7 years ago by the way.... we need help!

I learned an important lesson about being a Dad, I'll never make a decision based on what the kids would "like" to make their life more "comfortable" again... wish they came with a handbook!

Robski,

If you could do it over again, what boat sizes would you have purchased?
I am following a similar trend, not sea rays -22, 27, 30, ? and thought about the 340DA for my next boat.
hindsight being 20/20, what moves would you have made/not made?

Lou,

Enjoy the new boat, I had a 04 36 with the 8.1's I cruised a bit slower 22/24 knots and burned 36gph. The 8.1's should be great handling around the dock.

Rob I may have you beat.

Boats since adulthood, 18, 21, 28, 30, 32, 36,42

I had a 10', 17', 22', 28', 31', 33', 37'....( wanting a 40'er)

knowing what I know now.....I should have gone from the 10' to the 37'

How is the maintenance with the engines so close to each other with respect to the 36'.

Reg,
LOL the easy answer would have been to get the 44 right out of the gate...

Saved all those deposits....

I got the 26 to see if the wife and I were compatable to boat with .. and then to see if the kids liked it ..( we ( wife and I ) grew up with parents that boated.

The 26 only lasted a year as it was a big hit wit hthe family and was clearly too small for 4 people and full weekend trips ... I guess the 30 should have been skipped... But then i wouldnt have had the redesigned 34... so things work out for a reason I guess... The 30 dancer only lasted a season... But going from the 26 to 30 was huge for me .... I saw the boat out of the water and thats the worst thing u can do... IT Just looked so massive ( the 30 ) .... so I didnt try for the 32..

A YEAR LATER we were doing week long trips and went to the 34.... had the 34 for 3 years and went to the 44... I would have gone larger then the 44 but in the sand box we boat in ( LONG ISLAND NY )
the water depth is very shallow ... as it is with a 40 " draft I have problems in my marina and the nearby channels at low tide... Moon tides and im stuck

So theres the mind set behind the purchases..

Rob

I wouldnt call the deposits wasted .. Was just the coast of the learning curve ....

Going to a larger boat before ur ready causes frustatration that may cause undo heart ache ...

Friends have them in an 05 360 dancer and gets 32 GPH at cruise. ~.8 MPG.
