Last year I replaced two stripes on my boat. They are 1" and 2" stripes. I didn't notice that the striping had a sheet of clear plastic covering (protecting) it. When I did finally notice it one side came off easily but the other side (in the sun) kind of dried up and cracked.
How can I get the protecting layer off without damaging the striping? The cracks are about an inch or two apart so I don't really want to spend weeks trying to peel it a section at a time (it is a 34' boat).
