Pinstriping

Is the only way to take off pinstripes to use a blowdryer or heatgun. My 17ft boat has 5 stripes on the top and bottom on both sides and was wanting to remove them to get ready for paint the blowdryer works just takes forever.

Lots of RO's swear by graphics eraser which is a rubber disk made from what looks like gum rubber that you chuck into a drill and it will peel the stripes off. I think they run around $20-$25. I do believe Boatfix carries them.

It's called a Molding Adhesive & Stripe Removal Disc - it goes in an electric drill.

3M has a training video showing it's use,, but you have to sit through 2 minutes of how to install stripe before they show removal of stripes (or you can drag the slide up to two minutes to speed things up). Here's a link to the video.
