You will likely have to "custom" make your own striping.

I re-striped my boat this spring during annual bottom painting. My 1995 vintage boat had teal striping - looked so..... 90s. I replaced the striping with a 1" dark blue stripe, a 1/2" gray stripe, and another 1/2" dark blue stripe.

Once you get the first stripe on, the others can generally be aligned with the first.

Here is the boat prior to changing the striping.

So easy, even the admiral can do it:

Actually, she just got her photo taken showing "how" its done. We used an automotive type stripe removal wheel. Doesn't harm the gel coat unless you really bear down, then it can burn it. But you have to really try to have that happen.

I know of one person that removed their striping from a new boat by simply pulling it off, but after the striping is on the boat for 12 years, it becomes too brittle to pull off, so it has to be taken off with a wheel such as above.

One thing I did learn is that the wider the wheel the easier it is. My wheel was about 1/2" thick, and it did take awhile, but it came off very easily. The wheel feels like those gummy erasers you used to eat in 1st grade, so its like a big eraser. The wheels are used in the automotive industry to remove striping without damaging paint, so look for them at a well stocked auto-body store.

New bootstriping.

To create the striping, I put on the 1" piece first, then matched the two 1/2" pieces. It works best if you "sight" in the striping by looking down the length of the hull rather than attempting to lay the next stripe over the first - that won't look right.

But the striping is forgiving enough to pop off and re-set.

I know you are going to ask where we bought the striping, and I can find my source if you need it.

There are a few places, such as eBay and discount marine stores that sell old striping. I have not tried that, but I would be concerned about being brittle, etc. if it set for a long time.

The striping ain't cheap. Cost about $100 for 3 rolls of striping, each 150ft long.

We still have some teal striping to remove on the upper areas, that will also be replaced with gray.

We did the exact same as awboater. Google Harris Decals. Great people, great products and great prices.

The TFX striping that Harris Decals sells is what I used (although I bought it from another dealer).

Hi Bayratbh,
Below is a web site for striping material. I replaced my stripes when I purchased my boat almost 9 years ago. I used Prostripe 3mm vinyl stripe. It is a thinner (professional) stripe than others, however it stays on and does not come off, which is what you want. This is what the professionals use. There are many sizes, colors and lengths to choose from. Visit your local commercial auto parts store that sells paint, stripes, and other professional finishing supplies. They can order it for you. Here are a couple of picture of my boat with the new stripes on.
You can use 3M-stripe removal spray to take off your old stripes. This works the best and no muscle work is involved. The product softens the old stripe and it peels off. Just spray, wait a minute or two (read the directions of course) and peel. After the removal, use Prep Sol 202 I believe, for fiberglass, this removes any additional residue.
Good Luck, let us know how it turned out.
