A friend of mine in a 22' deck/fishing boat was out and about on the ICW in Flagler County yesterday and visited by the Fl Marine Patrol twice for courtesy inspections. According to my friend (a native New Yorker if that means anything) the Patrol told him to be careful when fishing the flats and the narrow channels as there have been incidents of piracy! Apparently they will block your boat, present weapons and demand your money.
Has anyone else ever heard of anything like this? I've known this guy a long time and tend to trust what he says.
