I don't think you'll notice much of a stability issue (if any) with the 444. Carver's hulls are designed to be stable..from experience, Silvertons are not (as stable). The 352 and 372/392 have trouble when even crossing another boat's wake righting themselves...not so with any Carver I've ever piloted, and I've run them all. The 444 is diesel powered and does handle quite well at docking speeds and on later years was available or standard with a bow thruster.
