I have a 1988 3807 ACMY, and need to replace my Good, rope only, windlass. Can anyone recommend an appropriate chain/rope capable windlass?

go with goode again if you're happy with it, they also make a chain/rope one with the same foot print I think it's a model 850.

I would do the same this way the holes line up or have them repair the unit. They are located in NJ and were very helpful.
If not Maxwell makes an excellent rope/chain or all chain windlass if you can go all chain.

they all have folks who what they like, you have to go with what fits your needs, I've got the old all rode/line one on my 3607 and wrap up 30' vinyl covered chain. It works for me, but when I can't trust it anymore I'll go to the 850 they are not cheap but they are a good winch (no pun intended)
