Try to avoid the breakers.
Usually breaking by lighthouse and rocks.
 
Depends on the tide, current and wind..but a 35 ft boat should have no problem. As mentioned, stay away from the breakers!
 
I just went thru yesterday with my 37' boat and it was fine. I have been thru several times with my 21ft and you need to watch the directions of wind and current as you would any inlet. As for the lighthouse, you should not be anywhere close to it.

Thanks for the input. Was Off Barnegat inlet in 9-10 footers (with chop), not fun. All is well. Regards
