Pocket hose- anybody using one?

I purchased mine. At Home Depot, last spring. Used it all summer. Left it coiled in a small weighed bucket on the dock. No problems!
 
I jut purchased the new and improved version sold and backed by DAP products. It has a larger diameter, and brass ends. for 2 25 footers(BOGO offer) it cost me 40 something bucks. I had to give it a try. Someone I knew had the flimsy green one with black plastic ends worked fine, but felt like junk. We will see when it arrives. I want it for my fresh water wash down. Just easier to have than the coil hose or a normal hose.

That gives me an idea!

I have a washdown, the type that sits in a cylinder and uses a coiled hose. Well, the hose developed a bunch of pinholes and is junk. I found a piece of vinyl hose that fits but it's not coiled and once pulled out of the cylinder it has to be manually coiled to get it back in and it's a PITA.

I wonder if I could replace the fittings on a piece of this type hose to fit my washdown?

I bet you can it to work. I would try adapting the end before I cut it. I am not sure how they secure the ends since the inner lining expands as well. I would imagine they ends are forced in the hose and have a compression fitting of some sort.
 
I visualize this hose plugged into my on board water system, and every time the pump cycles the hose acting like a slinky. ???
 
I love ours. We have used it for one season. I did have a leak but I was able to fix it myself. It makes boat washing easier.
