It looks like I'll be in D-30 with my new boat. I was down there one day last week and it looks good, however I don't know what power recepticles are on the dock. I need 2x30 AMP circuits and I saw adapters splitting off the power into 2 plugs and it looked much larger, assuming 50AMP. I called the office and the woman who answered wasn't sure and will get back to me. I thought it would be easier to just ask here. Does anyone know if they are 50 AMP 125 or 50 AMP 125/250 or what?

Thanks,
MJK

I know D-dock where I am (D-33) has 50 amp / 125 service that I split into twin 30's. I'd expect yours to be the same...

Slight correction -- the adapter I'm using is a 50 amp 125 / 250, so I'm minded i'm not 100% sure. In any event, it splits into twin 30's, 125.

King 5899,

If you need a splitter and do not have one, let me know. I do have one that I am not using any more, and can sell it at a much lower price than a new one. I am on G dock.

You will need the adapter as mentioned above. If you speak to the office they should give you a good deal. Last year when I was on the service dock I needed an adapter to go from two 30's to one 50 they sold it to me at about 40% of it was still about $300. Your adapter is much cheaper.
When are you getting you new boat?

The 50Amp outlets at SPBM are 50A 250/125v outlets. To split into the 2 30's for your boat you will need an adapter such as this one, 153AY.

The 152AY will NOT work even though it looks the same. http://www.marinco.com/product/y-adapter2-30a-locking-50a-locking

Boatfix sells the Charles version, http://www.boatfix.com/shop4/store/viewItem.asp?idProduct=3834
Please note that the model number of the Charles is A3030Y50H. Without the H you have the 50amp 125volt adapter which also will NOT work.

Hope that helps.

That means I need the Marinco 153AY adaptor.

Thanks,
MJK

Sorry Bob I didn't see your post as I was typing. I think you should take Bob up on his offer I'm sure he took good care of it, as he does his boat.

I thinks Champlins may have a few available. :D

Check with the guys at LICC.

Thanks for the offer, actually I already purchased one. After seeing the receptacle the other day I bought this one on eBay. I then realized there are 2 different 50 AMP plugs and felt stupid if I bought the wrong one so I figured I’d ask. Luckily I got the right one. I always do this, I rush out to buy something and realize it may not be the right part, this time I lucked out.

That was a great price for that adapter.
Champlins sells them for $275, but according to them, they don't make any money on them, they do it as a favor!
Yeah, right!

Dump the Chump!

I'm notorious for buying "good deals" that sit in my garage for years. In the long run the good deals usually get old and lose value on my shelves.

That is the price I would want for my 8 YO adapter if I was selling it.

You stole that puppy!!!

I have a few good deals laying around as well. LOL.
