When I bought my Monterey 262, the power steering pump was filled w/ fluid up to the "hot" line and the steering kind of stuck in places when turning.
I pulled some fluid out to get it down to the "cold" line which completely corrected the sticking issue, however it developed a knocking sound when the wheel is turned all the way in either direction.
Does this sound like the pump is going bad and is it possible that the previous owner overfilled the pump to cure the knocking noise?
