Is there any maintenance required of these motors. Mine seems a bit tired and the thought came to me that the shaft needed to be lubricated. Thanks.

Are these similar to the windshield power vents used on the 48? We had one that was "running slow" as we shut it. It was a bad connection.

Actually, the shaft may just need to be cleaned. Some lubricants will 'catch' dust and make things worse.

Agree.

I had the same problem. I was cleaning the helm and dripped some Malco UV protectant on the shaft by mistake. I just wiped it off and went about my business. When I closed the vent, the motor ran like brand new. A bit of WD40 on a paper towel to wipe the vent and engine hatch lifts is now routine maintenance.

Thanks all for the feedback, I wiped the shaft with some WD-40 and a paper towel and was amazed. It ran just like new.
