New zincs are on, bottom is ready for paint and hull is prepped for wax. I need two days to complete and I'm ready to splash. I'm going in early this year!

It's about time, I'm getting lonely being the only one on the water!

It must be nice storing indoors:)

It still a bit early to be cutting off shrink wrap. As much as I would love to get started I will wait it out a bit.

Thanks Flutterby.

Hogan - these folks are missing half the season. Not sure what they a waiting for.

Audrey - guess I better enjoy the indoor storage before the condo's get built :)

Don't worry I think you will have a spot for a while.

You're right. I think they are using the wood for the condo's on the sea wall. Plan on bottom painting this weekend.

Got the bottom painted today. Fortunately I had a lot of people keeping an eye on me and giving me advise while I worked.

Someone had to tell you which end of the brush to use. If I wasn't there you would probably still be painting:)

Actually you kicked a$$ today I'm impressed how quick you knock that out even with the distractions. I can't wait for you to paint mine.

Bought three new CO detectors on line but had to return them because they were the wrong size. When speaking to the sales women I mentioned they were going in my boat and she said they do sell the "marine " version. Apparently I was purchasing the RV version for about $60. I asked how much the marine version was and she said a little over $200 so naturally I asked what the difference was and she very honestly said that there were no differences in the specs. Both handle the same temperatures and humidity ranges. In fact, she said most RV's get more humidity then boats. Just goes to show you as soon as you put the word "marine" on something, they triple the price.

Thanks for reminding me. I should replace mine this year too. I would venture to guess that the marine versions have coated circuit boards.

What detector are you shopping for? Fireboy/Xintex w/out generator relay is usually a little over $100 and w/ the relay around $150.

My boat came with Safe-T Alerts so I wanted a direct replacement. BTW, I saw no indication that Silverton used the marine version but never the less I feel very confident that the RV version will perform just fine. I don't believe I have a generator relay. Someone else mentioned that to me and it sounds like a great idea so I will check it out. Same thing happend when my spot light burned out. All the marine stores on-line wanted around $85 for the bulb. I looked up the GE number that was clearly printed on the bulb and found the exact item on a trucking website for $8.00

I find the camping section at Wal-Mart a great place to save money on "marine" toilet paper, head chemicals, etc. It's amazing how much money can be saved by shopping other sources before heading to the marine store.

Don't ever get involved with airplanes. It's even worse. Every part needs a paper trail. Sometimes the documentation is more expensive than the part.

As it should be. It's tough to throw out an acnhor and wait for Air Tow to pick you up when your plane breaks down

Kurt

Single ply Scotts. No issues with Vacuflush.

I recently bought 90 rolls of two-ply marine toilet paper for $.50/roll from Defender. I think I'm set for the summer...

I tried single ply Scotts ONCE. It clogged up my system. Never again!

90 rolls! WOW I know you spend a lot of time on board but that's a lot of paper.
I'm not sure if we go through more then 12 to 16 a year.

You mean it went to the crapper!

Are you still planning on waxing this weekend?
