Hello everyone!! I'm a new boat owner and this is my first post.I just purchased a 86 Bayliner Ciera 2450 that had only been used in saltwater and was left in the water for all of last season. The bottom is painted with micron extra and looked pretty good, not much slime and only a few barnacles. However the remaining bottom paint looks a little rough. I plan on trailering this boat and it will see permanent fresh water use on Lake Ouachita in Arkansas. My question is ,Do I need bottom paint in freshwater on a boat that will be trailered? If not should I just leave whats left of the bottom paint on and let it wear off? If I need to redo the bottom paint, is it the correct type for freshwater conditions? Are their any other steps I should take to prep this boat for permanent freshwater use? Engine is Volvo AQ260 (350GM) with raw water cooling and outdrive is a 280 DP. Thank you in advance for your help!!!
