Hi everyone. New member and hope to soon be a new Regal owner. I'm looking at an '02 3060 and wondered if there's somewhere I can find the real market value. Where's the best place to get accurate information on what boats are actually selling for as opposed to sources like NADA or asking prices? Thanks.

Mike

The real market value is fluid. Condition, use, fresh water versus salt, options, etc. all affect the value of a boat. I look at the so called "book values" then I go to the local paper, online sources, like boats.com and yachtworld, to see what the boats are listed for. You can deduct 5-10% for actual selling prices.

Thanks for the response.

What's the usual price differential for salt vs fresh water?
What changes need to be made if the boat is moved to Chesapeake Bay from primarily ocean use?

I can't say if there is a usual price difference from salt to fresh. Fresh water boats tend to move a bit quicker and command a higher price. A bit of comparative shopping should yeild you a ball bark figure.

You should check the zincs. Fresh water boats require a different type of metal than boats used in salt.

Your maintenance may be a bit higher on a boat used in salt water but other than that there are no other mandatory changes. A fresh water cooling system is optional.
