Today the electrician and the Mechanic finished up the install of our Navman 3100 fuel management system. It was installed on our Sun Dancer 310 with twin 5.7, 350 MPI Horizons.
I started the port engine first; it was running fine, but no fuel flow was being read at the gauge. I then started the starboard engine (45 seconds after starting the port engine) it also ran fine. Though it was not reading fuel flow either. Increased the RPMs to about 1k and still no reading on either engine.
About three minutes passed; and the port engine stalled; about 45 seconds later the starboard engine also stalled. I tried to restart the engine the would turn over but the would not run smoothly. If Increased the throttle the would run but I was fearful of causing further damage so I shut both engine down.
Has anybody run into these problems with the Navman System? Any ideas on what to try? One thing to note is that I was advised not to install the secondary inline fuel filter? Could this be the problem? What would happen if the transducer were ounted upside down?
