Having some trouoble this year with various pumps etc.. looks like a bad winterizing job..l Well next up I think my ac water pump is shot. It ran yesterday but when I turned it off and the next day on again, it blows the breaker. I believe its the pump becasue I have two ac units and when I turn either on, the pump should start and it blows the breaker from both... So. Anyone know the correct size pump for a 84 carver mariner (36 ) with the two ac units ?

Thanks

Disconnect power to the pump at the pump and try to turn the units on, if it doesn't blow the breaker I guess you are right if it still blows the breaker then you need to dig deeper and don't waste money on something that might not be wrong.

do you have the flow spec's or make/model # of the old pump?
If not what is the total BTU of both units and who makes them?

Just look at the current pump it will say right on it.

Dave you might be right however if the AC units were ever upgraded many people forget to upgrade the pump. I like to know the AC unit(s) models by BTU's then the total distance and lift needed then oversize by 20%.

You might trying calling the AC manufacturer. Dominic the OEM on my AC was very helpful in diagnosing problems and will help you find the right pump.

This goes for about anything on the boat, ie call the original manufacturer, I've found most to be very helpful. If you don't know who made the system, call Carver (now Meridian) they may be able to help you if you have a HIN #.
