I know this isnt the correct section but A few months back I asked about a place to buy props locally. Some suggested doing it online..Where are the best places to buy from online? I looked at boat fix and I cant get what I need.

Hope its ok to post this here..

Thanks

I am assuming you are getting bronze or stainless by thinking shipping costs will be a consideration. Larry Johnson in Freeport is as good a place as you can go to get quality for your money. At least compare.

if you look online, definitely look at "edited", when you call speak to Ken. I used him last year and he recommended the perfect prop (upgraded 3 blad ss to 4 blade) and he has real competitive prices too.

We are not allowed to post links to other sites
But you can say "do a Google for prop gods

There's a place in Bellport...Bossler and Sweeney

If you're buying online, check out ebay. There are some deals out there but buyer beware. Last winter I picked up a Merc 15"x 19" SS LH Mirage for $30 including shipping. It was used but looked in good shape. Since it was used, I had my marina send it out to their prop shop; there was no way I was going to just slap it on. Had a new hub installed, balanced, trued, and polished (mirror finish) for $175. Total investment a little over $200 for a prop that was better than new. Brand new this would have been $475+.

I went to Lawrence Johnson earlier today. They didnt have a 14x19, so I settled for a 13x19. Not much of a difference. I got a good deal so I cannot complain.

I have a couple of aluminum 14.5 X 19 props that I took off of my Alpha drives on my boat last spring. You are welcome to one of them if you want it. They have a couple of dings in them, but aren't too bad. I think the hub kit might be the same on the outboards, if not, you'd just need a hub kit.

Try www.propmd.com. I bought a set of stainless props for my boat from them last spring. They gave me the best price (I checked several places) and really steered me to the right size and pitch props when I called them for advice.
