I hear one of the best ways to winterize is with one of the 5 gal containers with lines attached that allows antifreeze to be drawn in through the lower unit through muffs. I also heard a service guy at my dealership say that pulling the thermostat is the best way to circulate the antifreeze as it opens the cooling system completely and you do not have to deal with the thermostat closing.
Anyone here use this method to winterize? If so- does anyone have a service manual that shows the exact location of the thermostat on a 4.3L Mercruiser? I have a pretty good idea where it is, just want verification before pulling parts off. ;)
Thanks.
