Hey all,

I would like to either make or find a tube/connector that would have a clear part so you can see the waste material being sucked out when pumping out.

I would like this so when I flush the tank, I can see if there is still stuff coming out of it. Has anyone seen one or made something like it?

I have a metal extension I screw into my waste port, then our pump out hose from the marina fits over the top of that, but I can see what junk is coming out. I always flush once after, but would like to be able to see if it is clean or not and if another flush is necessary...

Every pump out I've seen has the site tube on the pump out handle just beyond the on/off valve. I guess it could be done, but it better be some VERY strong polycarbonate. There is a lot of stress on that joint coupled with movement if you are not in a no wake zone....or are and nobody pays attention.

I don't have one, nor does our marina, nor do I want to see what going out..

I would normally agree, but I want to make sure I get it cleaned out. We usually flush with clean water once after pumping out. We stopped a different marina last weekend and pumped out and they had this clear piece of tubing on their's that they could see if stuff was still coming out after flushing. They did it 4 times before it starting looking clear again.

So, I am on a mission to get ours cleaned out better. The tank is the original on the boat and has a lot of build up on the walls that I can't see if its full until a few inches from the top. So, I have been researching how to get it cleaned out and going to try Oxi-clean in there this weekend. Drop it in on Friday night and then pump it out saturday. Then add more and pump out again.

The sight tube would be helpful to see if it is working or not outside of looking at the sides of the tank itself.
