Hello

Looking to purchase a 2002 Regal 2760/2860 (about 31 feet long) equipped with 2 Volvo's 4.3 GL.

Question, since I believe they have carburetors (190 HP) how much more maintenance are those versus fuel injection?
If they really have carburetors in a 2002 year boat, how old is that technology? Don't think there are cars since the seventies without fuel injection.

2. Will that boat be able to get out off it's own way (dry weight 7800 lbs.)? Not looking for top speed as much as being able to get and keep her comfortable on plane.

3. Does anybody have a guess about fuel consumption?

Thanks in advance

I owned a Regal 2660 for 4 years with the Volvo 4.3 EFI engines and they were great engines. Average fuel economy was about 1.7 NMPG. The boat was very fast but it did struggle a bit to get on plane with a load of more than 6 people, I had to apply full tabs and shift the load toward the bow to jump out of the hole. I changed the props to 4 blade and decreased the diameter a little and that really helped getting on plane faster, lost some top end speed but that was not my priority.
