I have an older 1989 Searay 25 Sundancer, boat is in fine shape in and out with one exception that is bothering me. My dash, the area behind the windshield. It is a hard type of vinyl (I think) It's a very rough textured type and it is faded real bad. I guess from the sun etc. I've tried every thing to bring it back restore the color but nothing seems to work. Wife wants me to paint it but I dont want it to come back and haunt me a couple years down the road with paint peeling etc. Does any one have any suggestions? Thanks. Joe

Well the best thing for your issue is to cut the area out with a chainsaw, then, rebuild it with with your attitude,i believe it will hold for a long time. Perhaps no one viewing your thread had any good suggestions, other than the obvious : Upholstery shop.

Here's your ******* reply- Site doesn't suck as much as your attitude.

How about recovering it with a supple marine vinyl like you can get at many fabric stores? If its relatively flat and you can reach behind the windshield, you could probablly glue it over whats there already.
