I've read on a surveyor's web site that the fuel line on an inboard gasoline engine must be all metal from the engine mounted mechanical fuel pump to the carburetor, i.e. no rubber hose is allowed. In reading USGC 33 CFR Subpart J it states in Sec. 183.558 Hoses and connections.
(a) Each hose used between the fuel pump and the carburetor must be ``USCG Type A1'' hose.
In replacing my in carb fuel filter today the flare nut stripped and I had to cut out a 2" section of metal line and insert a short piece of double clamped A1 hose. Is this not legal and should I just replace the entire metal line.
