Got a recent inquiry at work from a fellow who is considering putting Raritan sewage treatment systems on his boat. He is familar with the U.S. laws but he also wanted to know about their legality, or lack thereof, in the Bahamas and in Bermuda. I know there are plenty of them installed on boats and are being used in both areas, but I don't know specifically what the regulations and requirements are, if any.

I know we have a few Bermudans on the board, and there are plenty of you who spend a lot of time in the Bahamas, especially during the winter. Can anyone offer any details on what the regs actually are?

no rules that i know of in the bahamas. there are very few working pump out so dumping "offshore" is the only solution.

Heck, there are very few (if any) municipal waste treatment plants in the Bahamas!
