Is there a way to search the board for older threads. I'm looking for the thread on Fleet week from last year to find out about anchor spots.

Thanks

Lost,

The best anchoring spots are right out in front of Alcatraz Island. There is a shallow shelf that you can anchor on without having to put out miles of rode, but you need to get there early. You will also want to take a look at the tide tables. A couple of years ago the tide tuned just before the show and by the time the Blue Angels were flying the current was ripping! Many boats just cruise slowly during the entire show, but the skipper doesn't really get to enjoy the show, there are two many other distractions to allow looking up. We used to anchor close to shore by the municipal pier, but they have banned anchoring there during the show now.

This is probably the thread you were thinking of: http://www.boatered.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=107036&SearchTerms=Fleet,Week

Lost,
You can google "boatered" and then add key words to search the site from the outside. It seems to work pretty well.

Rod, your info is outdated.

Go to the bottom of this page. Using g00gle, chose the boatered.com option and then g00gle what you want to find. Easy and pretty accurate!

Towcapt's way uses the g00gle web search not on a BoaterEd page..........but it works!
