Quick help with buff

My boat looks good when wet but gets dull when it dries up, this is mostly around the swim platform area. I bought 2 cans of Buff magic this week and 2 bottles Of pro polish.

MY question is: Can I use my orbital buffer (3200 rpm) for both the buff magic and the pro polish or do I have to go buy a polisher (non orbital)?

You can use a random orbit polisher to apply both the buff magic and pro polish. However, it isn't necessary to use a polisher to apply a polish. That's the beauty of using a polish. They go on easier and come off easier than a wax.

If your boat has medium to moderate oxidation, you would be better off buying a regular polisher like Makita or Dewalt. They'll make the job much easier and faster. Plus, the results will be superior.

I'm going to have two guys with me on saturday to do my boat, So I need to get the best results. Sorry but I don't understand your post, is buff magic a polish or not?
Are you saying that I could just use my buffer but it is better to use a buffer?

Sounds like you're describing oxidation. If you use an orbital buffer for the Buff Magic, you're just wasting time and product. You'll need a rotary (variable speed ) buffer to work the Buff Magic in and remove the oxidation. Buff Magic is a polish like other abrasives. You can easily apply and remove the Pro Polish by hand.

Buff Magic is a fiberglass reconditioner and deoxidizer. It does an excellent job of removing oxidization and polishing. However, you still need apply a wax or polish to whatever surface you cleaned.

When I refer to a polish, like pro polish, I mean a protective top coat which is going to give you the shine and protect the underlying substrate.

If you use a random orbit buffer to apply buff magic you're wasting your time like Greg said. You need a rotary buffer if you want good results.

Pro polish can be applied by hand once the surface is clean.
